Beautiful red "Lena" clog sandals have arrived in Red Hook, all the way from Sweden, for Spring '10. Here's how they're made, and why we love them...
"THE WOOD only European
Birch and Alder-wood, grown according EU standards is used in the making
of our clogs so that every step you take supports forest regeneration.
THE LEATHER we only use carefully tanned hides harvested
from European cows raised according to the strictest EU standards.
THE RUBBER for our soles
we use recycled rubber not just because it is more environmentally friendly,
but because it provides a more sure-footed grip.
our shoes are hand-made by fifth generation of Swedish shoemakers according
to classic clog manufacturing processes. Through out the process the
shoe is never unattended by the craftsman."
We are carrying the Red ones, but Black or Tan are available by custom order. They are extremely comfortable, and have a 3" heel height. Sizes are European, and they run true to size.
$148. a pair, plus $6. shipping in the US.
