The first standalone knitting pattern from the book has been posted, it's in .pdf form, and 9 mgs. It's the Ha'Penny Loop, a giant lace cowl, that's really fun and fast to knit. Here it is modeled by my intrepid assistant, Sydney:
The pattern is available for purchase via two outlets online: Ravelry or Etsy. Working on the next one...!

Well, the knitting pattern book I worked so hard on is out, and I'm spending a rainy afternoon uploading the pattern info to my designer page on Ravelry.com. The photos {not taken or styled by me} are embarrassing crap. Really. Here it is on Amazon:
Handmade Underground: KnitwearThis was a very unpleasant experience for me, as the packager, Elwin St. Books, chopped up and butchered my patterns after I submitted them. Removed descriptions of unusual techniques, shot things without showing important detail, etc. The technical editor dumbed down stitches because she told me "she couldn't wrap her mind around them". Oh My Fucking God. So what's in the book is different from what I submitted, and different from my samples. If you're a beginner knitter, you may not know the difference, but it's not supposed to be like that. I did what I could. Sorry. It was completely out of my hands. I wrote 10 original patterns just for this book, and because I complained vigorously about the presentation and over-editing, the co-author credit was taken away from me, and given to Melissa Halvorson, who has just three of her old patterns in it, not even written for the book.
They still used one of my designs for the cover, though. Thanks.I had to hire a lawyer to get my knitted samples back. Yes, it cost a lot of money.
Such is life. Avoid book packagers. Self publish or work directly with a reputable publisher.
But they are my ten patterns, and there they are. I will be uploading them for sale individually, on Ravelry or my website over the next few weeks as I complete the .pdfs. The way they SHOULD be presented, In other words, written CORRECTLY and with beautiful, detailed pictures that show what the pieces are supposed to look like.

Our order of supple leather and suede winter gloves from London came in today, just in time for the weekend. These are excellent for ladies with wool sensitivity, they are lined with soft, warm black fleece, not wool. They should fit closely, the leather or suede will give, and conform to your hand. The fingers are slightly long...these are for the possibility of nails.
Two sizes: Small/Medium and Medium/Large. Four colors, Beetroot suede, Black leather, Loden green leather, Plum suede Shorties. The gloves all have a ruched wrist.
$56. for longies, $46. for the plum shorties.

My favorite jacket is back in stock, in Rust or Black. Mont*Bell is a Japanese technical clothing company, we are proud to be the only shop in New York to carry this brand. Beautifully cut, these 7.7oz down jackets come with their own stuff sack. Cleverly placed drawstrings make a personalized fit. Adjustable hood. Outer pockets. Inner pockets. Extremely rain resistant, very light and warm. The thought that went into this design is apparent. Form = function = beauty. We have Rust, lined with a lighter shade of rust, and Black, lined with steel grey. The fit should be form-fitting, but not tight. The mannequin is wearing a med, but she is a small. This fit is too large, unless you like it that way! The jacket is wonderful on it's own, or as a layer in very cold weather.
We are currently sold out of Small and Large, but will take a custom order for those sizes. Please call the shop to order... Small 2-4. Med: 6-8, Large: 8-10, XL: 10-12
$165. each.

We have a lovely selection of handwarmers in stock from Bemidji Woolen Mill in Minnesota. A family run woolen goods factory since 1920, these things are real Americana. Most of this mills production goes to Japan, I am really happy to keep some of here in the US! We carry a variety of BWM products, here are the handwarmers.... woven wool outside, synthetic fleece lined. The strap goes either around your neck or your waist.
$44. each. Only one of each color is in-house, except two of black. These were made especially for RedLipstick.
